New Web site and Email Campaign for Gilyn McKelligon Interiors LLC, an interior design firm.

challenge

Showcase Gilyn McKelligon Interiors services, brand and philosophy with a visual language that would appeal to potential clients. The client only had a one-page Web site with no content.

solutions

We worked with Gilyn to come up with a Web site architecture and content, as well as recommend she have professional images taken to feature her fabulous interior design work.

strategy

We started with our Web Site & Branding Client Questionnaire which helped us get to know more about Gilyn McKelligon Interiors’ target market, design style and business goals. Working with Gilyn we determined that their online branding should have an elegant and classic tone. Her core values are Honesty, Integrity, Style, Professionalism, Inspiring, Fun.

design

The brand environment is: “sleek city, minimalist, classic, PC wishing to become a Mac.” Color scheme: Taupes, whites, blues, grays, Local Artisan, Eco Chic, Eclectic, Sophisticated, Friendly, Vintage Modern, Clean, Professional. From there we presented a creative brief outlining the project summary and Web site goals. Once the creative brief was approved we presented two mood board design directions: “Eclectic Chic" (PDF): (modern heirloom, local artisan, whimsical, romantic) and “Warm Contemporary” (PDF): Contemporary yet enduring, inspired by sophisticated timeless design, elegant, organic. The client chose the Warm Contemporary direction and the current custom hand-crafted Web site is a reflection of that.

Develop a single-minded message that would be memorable to potential clients. We helped the client to come up with the “Love coming home” tag line.

We developed a custom Web site to feature the design direction and unique messaging for Gilyn. The site featured portfolio galleries that are easy for Web site visitors to navigate, using the latest Web 2.0 Ajax scripting technology. Social media was incorporated as a key component to identity branding today.

digital marketing

For marketing we suggested the client setup a Facebook Fan page as well as a LinkedIn account. Internet searches and online visiblity are an important source for potential clients for her location-based business, so Gilyn needed to have a strong Web presence. Eye design studio worked with Hoi Moon marketing to help Gilyn write user-friendly optimized copy with rich keywords, ensuring the Web site would be found in search results. Gilyn also has a custom email campaign which matches the branding of her Web site. She will be managing and sending her own content, sending directly to her mailing list and monitoring her results with the system we created for her.

I have been all over your beautiful Web site.” I got that call at 9:30 this morning, so thank you!"
